Eustatic change modulates exhumation in the Japanese Alps

چکیده
The exhumation of bedrock is controlled by the interplay between tectonics, surface processes, and climate. highest rates centimeters per year are recorded in zones highly active tectonic convergence such as Southern Alps New Zealand or Himalayan syntaxes, where high rock uplift combine with very processes. Using a combination different thermochronometric systems including trapped-charge thermochronometry, we show that also occur Hida Mountain Range, Japanese Alps. Our results imply centimeter more common than previously thought. thermochronometry data allow development time series rate changes at scale glacial-interglacial cycles, which four-fold increase baseline to ~10 mm/yr within past ~65 k.y. This likely explained knickpoint propagation due precipitation rates, climatic change, sea-level fall, range-front faulting, moderate uplift. resolve centimeter-scale sub-Quaternary changes, regions horizontal convergence, coupling climate, tectonics can exert significant rapid effect on exhumation.

On the causes and modes of exhumation and lateral growth of the Alps
[1] A compilation of the apatite and zircon fission track ages of the Alpine chain points to markedly different patterns of cooling and exhumation of the Eastern Alps compared to the central andWestern Alps. The site of exhumation and shortening in the Western Alps migrated outward, whereas it was more stationary in the Eastern Alps, where it created a narrower metamorphic belt. A correlation o...

[1] During the last glacial period, eustatic lowering of sea level exposed large areas of continental shelves that are presently submerged. By a series of direct numerical simulations we investigate the sensitivity of the atmosphere-ocean system to exposure of the extensive Sunda shelf in the western tropical Pacific. We demonstrate that this specific forcing factor triggers increased convectio...

Rapid eye movement sleep in males is characterized by penile erection along with EEG desynchronization, muscle atonia, ponto-geniculo-occipital waves, and rapid eye movements (REM). The central neural mechanisms regulating sleep related erections (SREs) are not known. Recently, the lateral preoptic area has been shown to contribute in sleep-related erectile mechanisms. The present study was con...
